No HP devices have been detected. HP Solution Center will close now.
my Hp Officejet 4580 All-in -One was not connected to my system the Error massege:No HP devices have been detected. HP Solution Center will close now.please give the solution

I had CA Internet Security Suite installed (free version from Time Warner). I reinstalled the software that came with the All-In-One and the device could not be found. I then turned of the Firewall in the CA Internet Security Suite, and the device WAS found.
Turned the Firewall back on, and could no longer use the All-In-One as a scanner, only as a printer and got the same error "No HP Devices have been detected..." when running the HP Solution Center. What a pain.
Turned off the Firewall, got the same error. Uninstalled the CA Internet Security Suite and now everything works. I fire up the Solution Center and there is the device. There may have been a way to configure the firewall to allow the All-In-One, but was too lazy to figure it out. I've spent enough time on this issue already.
Hope this helps.

I fought this forever. This did the trick for me: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
1. Uninstall ALL your HP software using all means available, re-boot
2. Delete the C:\HP\Digital Imaging directory; rename Twain_32 to Twain_32 old; re-boot
3. Do a few registry hacks, re-boot
4, Us msconfig to do a selective startup
5. Clear all your temporary files and cache etc using Disk Cleanup
6. make sure hpqtra08.exe and hpqste08.exe are in the startup registry (I did it using PCTools), re-boot
7. Make sure PML Driver HPZ12 service is running, re-boot
8. Double-check that everything is still running as you it should
9. I deleted the 192.168.1.101 port under Ports on the printer properties for the device
10. I added a User Defined Service to "Port Override" for ports 9999 to 65535
11. I added 192.168.1.101 to the list of trusted IP addresses.
12. Disable your firewall completely.
13. Re-install the software. It should find the printer and add it. If not, you get to start over. I didn't have to
14. REBOOT and make sure your firewall is up and running.
15. Success! I can now scan and fax from my desktop
Don't believe me, follow the instructions at the link at the top. Don't use my comments as a guide - just as a memory jogger.

Thanks for your thoughts - currently I have no HP Solution Centre or related software working just the loaded basic printer drivers (which have been a saviour to keep my business running)
When I try to add a device or load the full package the software just fails without message.

Ok I tried turning the firewall off on my security suite (Norton 360) and then reinstalling - but not uninstalling the security suite altogether.
I will try this approach on the weekend - take off security sopftware, attempt to reinstall HP all in one software by adding a device and reinstalling.
I will report back.

For those of you using Vista, and this may work with XP and 7 as well - I'll throw you a bone so you can stop jacking with the morons at HP. Let me tell you, HP has the worst collection of untrained techs in the world. Hands down. They read from scripts and have no clue. They should know what I'm about to tell you.
If you are trying to access the solution center and it's giving the old "No HP Devices Detected....." message then it's because the HP Monitor is not running - and NOTHING ELSE. It's not drivers, it's not the service, it's the MONITOR.
If you do not see the little green icon in your taskbar, then the crappy HP installer probably did what it's done to me on 5 machines now and it didn't set the monitor up correctly. See, I'm an IT Director and I deal with many makes of computers/printers. This happens A LOT and HP SHOULD KNOW THIS BY NOW!
To resolve the issue do the following:
If you've done anything with the drivers, software, etc then just uninstall and reinstall the entire HP suite. I know you may have done this 10 times already, but bare with me. Once you have the suite installed, you still probably won't see the monitor icon so you need to force it.
Open up explorer and browse to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\Bin
Find the APPLICATION with the file name of: hpgtra08.exe ( I have seen this named slightly different. It will be the application with the small green dot identical to the icon in the task bar (when it's installed and working)
Double click on this file and wait. After a 30-45 seconds depending on your PC, an installer will open. Just click "Ok" or "Next" and agree with everything it asks.
Yeah, that's it.
You will notice that the monitor shows up in your taskbar. Run the HP Solutions center and you will see that it opens properly now.
If you reboot your computer and the montor is not running in the taskbar you will need to open the Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\Bin folder and right click on hpgtra08.exe and create a shortcut to the app. Drag that shortcut to the StartUp folder in your Start Button or you can drag that shortcut to your desktop and manually run it when you reboot. Up to you.
If any of this isn't clear, feel free to ask me.

Thanks for your kind thoughts and suggections - tried this solution and several other suggestions but to no avail. In the end I have gone elsewhere and purchased a new competitor's AIO device - as with all new products you get some support. A shame that HP have lost a loyal long term customer but there was little choice.

I did all you suggested althought the Digital Image Monitor was already in my taskbar and when I went to show HP Solutions, it still came up witth no HP devices have been detected and of course, not printer icons show up in my hardware window either.
I can use the printer - an all- in -one HP 6110xi as well get to its preferences when wanting to print something in word
, but still need the solution center for scanning, faxing, etc, so any additional thoughts would be appreciated.
