Non-existent paper jam, HP Deskjet 3050

I have a message saying there is a paper jam, but there is no paper jam. Short of taking a screwdriver to the printer, I can't seem to fix it. I have re-booted the printer. I have pulled the power cord. There is NO paper in the feed, but it keeps saying there is a paper jam. Please help.

Re: Non-existent paper jam, HP Deskjet 3050

Could it be just a small piece of paper got stuck in there? if you are are sure that's not the case, then the sensor is broken.

I'm sure there is not even a tiny piece of paper in it.  How do I fix the sensor--it's only a 2 month old printer?

grit,

Have you followed the guidelines: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02130018&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&ju...

If that does not clear up your problem, consider the 1 year warranty, see pg 8: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02497863.pdf

Re: Non-existent paper jam, HP Deskjet 3050

these printers are crap, they work great for about 2 months, then you get the paper jam error, they steps they give you wont fix it and are just a waste of your time, take it back to the store and try to get them to let you excahnge it for another brand, I got a Kodak this time and it works great, it is kind of slow about pinting, but otherwise no problems, I had 3 hp's and they all gave the false paperjam error,  I got tired of going back to the store to exchange it every 2 months

I had a similar issue. My printer only had 361 prints done before I experienced a hardware issue. Luckily it was only a couple months old and still covered under warranty so HP offered to replace it for free. I just hope I don't get another lemon. lol
