I have an OJ 8500, usb, 909g. It had been working wonderfully for about 1 year, then started having problems with scan function, so I tried to reinstall the driver. Since then, I can't get the installation to complete. Every time it fails at about 96%. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the software countless times. I have removed all HP printers and files from hard drive. I followed the HP recomendations in the troubeshooting. I have followed the recommendations of various helpful people here about cleaning my registery (done it twice), emptying trash cans, turning off virus protection and/or firewalls.
The error code is "Fatal error duing install. hpzsetup.exe " "-f".\autorun.usb.inf" or something like that. No error code in the message. The details provided by the error log mention failure to get source Autorun (?), and an exit code 1602 (which I looked up & is a registry problem).
So, any suggestions?? Is there anything else I can try?

Hi All,
I have that exact same problem (I can't believe it),After uninstalling it once, I couldn't reinstall the software. it keeps hanging at exactly 96% (configuring yr device...). I have downloaded new packages & still no luck. shut down firewalls, antivirus, disabled all non windows services, nothing helped. I'm frustrated. I have no idea what to do next. Please advice.

I also updated my firmware.
How did you get the screen capture of the error message & the log file?

After installation Failure, There is a recovery process that tries to analyze the problem & creates an error log file to upload to HP. After this log is created there is an option to View its details.
** UPDATE **
I have noticed there is a newer version of software package 14 ( I used 12), downloaded & Installed, after scrubbing old versions. Still Having the same problem, although the log file is more "readable", it seems there are errors regarding Flash9????, and some regarding Installation Language "HEB". Is there any way to force installation to use English, insted of HEB?
But there are also registry problems, which makes sense that will make problems in reinstall... I have no idea how to read those.
Also, service spoolsv.exe crashed during install.
Please, any kind of help, or an idea will be most appreciated.
Log Enclosed...
