OfficeJet 8500 Wireless Install keeps locking up

Have attempted to install the software several times and it keeps locking up in step 3 of 4. Needless to say I am really frustrated and very unhappy. I have disabled my Norton Anti-Virus as recommended and even shut down my firewall after disconnecting from my DSL. I have set it up as a network printer on the wireless router in my office, and it actually printed a screen capture for me, but my computer locked up shortly thereafter. Once again I was forced to shutdown and reboot. Of course when I reboot HP has to run a clean up and deletes the install forcing me to reboot again. i am getting F"N tired of this. Any suggestions?
