Re: OfficeJet 8600 has small white lines on photo prints.

My problem isn't from scanned documents, its from printed documents. For instance on a 4x6 I get two lines (they are very very small) the length of the picture, they are about an inch apart.

Re: OfficeJet 8600 has small white lines on photo prints.

The paper is HP Advanced Photo Paper. The part number is Q6638A.....

I should add I have also several other posts about the fact that the printer wont even pull 8.5 x 11 HP premium plus high Gloss Photo paper, part number q1785a.

Re: OfficeJet 8600 has small white lines on photo prints.

Well, I did. I was on hold for an hour. The person then said the "engineers" were to busy. I also have noticed a number of people have the same issues as me so I thought having this information in the forum would be valuable to others. I will call back in though as you suggest. Also, I hate to have to deal with getting a printer replacement after only a week. That doesn't give me a good feeling. What if that doesn't fix the problem? At that point I may not be able to return it where I bought it.

Re: OfficeJet 8600 has small white lines on photo prints.

On 3/20/12, HP support just told me to remove any surge protector and plug it directly into the wall socket. The printer supposedly has surge protection built in. This was for black lines on copies but may help you with your problem

I too have this problem.  Did you ever get it resolved?  I've tried plugging into the wall and updating to the latest firm ware.
