Whenever I try to install the Printer drivers for the printer, whether it is through the Network or USB Cable, I get the software crashing during the System Inspection portion of the Install. I get the Situation Error Code 18705262. The whole error message reads:
"The following lines were retrieved from the installation error logs.
Now Launching=X:\hpzshl01.exe -m icepreshield,hpsecurity,compositedev,printer,masss
Exit code= -1073741819"
I have experienced this happening on both my Laptop and my Wife's Laptop. Both Laptops are running Windows XP Pro SP3. I called HP Tech Support when I first encountered this problem on my Wife's Laptop and their solution was to install the Deskjet 990 Printer Driver when I plugged the printer into the USB Port. I encountered the same error on My Laptop, which had a fresh install of Windows on it at the time and got the same error. Suspecting Corrupt Software I ordered a new Drivers CD and tried to install it again todayon both Laptops and got the same error.
If I cannot get this printer working with all the necessary software components to alow for scanning and printing, then I will be going back to my old HP AIO, which was networked and working fine. The next step then will be to look at other AIO printers from the Competition and see if they have similar problems connceting to a Network for the installation of the software. I am frustrated with not being able to print from one Laptop and not being able to scan documents or pictures in either Laptop. It would really be nice to get them working completely and not having some short-cut solution applied to this problem.
I was able to get printer drivers installed when I connected the USB cable up to my Laptop and it does basic printing only, but it does not resolve any issues still reamining for the Scanning. Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I am loosing all faith in HP's ability to properly produce results with their products.
