Officejet J4580 Windows 7 Installation [ Edited ]

I tried installing the new drivers today but my install gets as far as "Configuring Product" and hangs for about 15 minutes then gives me a fatal error.  I disabled my anti-virus before installing and there are no other programs running.  Any ideas?  I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I was having the same problem and even though I am running a 64-bit OS, during the HP install, I selected 32-bit OS instead and download the full feature.  It worked for me although I have no idea why.  I figured this out when my daughter that has a 32-bit OS, downloaded using the 32-bit OS and it worked fine.   Please let me know once you try to make sure I am not giving out bad advice.  I want to make sure it works for more than just me!

I atttempted this to resolve the issue without success.  It brought up the same download as the 32bit.  Still having the issue!

Sorry I forgot to post back in here after resolving it.  This was resolved some time ago, but after a few emails back and forth with HP I believe the solution was to try installing all of the software except the drivers first, then install the drivers after (or possibly vice versa).  Give those options a try

Having the exact same problem. Tried every solution on this website and the windows solution help too! DRIVER NOT INSTALLED - DRIVER NOT FOUND.

win7 - 64bit - disabled virus software - turned off startup programs

took 2345346 tries to successfully download the software - once downloaded, it gets all the way to configure then gives me a "fatal error during installation" message! ERROR SITUATION 06837846

HELP?
