Paper feed on the HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless A909 Series is intermittent and unreliable

I was hoping to find an answer here. I also have the problem that the rubber rollers in the ADF on my 8500 All In One will no drop down consistently to feed the paper in the ADF which basically renders the unit wothless fof copying and faxing. Has anyone found a solutuion from HP for this defect.

I have a HP 8500 Pro that the paper feed arm would not drop to pick up the paper. It turns out that if I go into the print driver on my PC and change the paper source from "Automatic" to "Tray 1" it works fine.

It seems the printer does not know what tray to pull the paper from so the paper feed does not drop. I only have 1 paper tray so I locked printering to tray 1. I did this on four laptops that I have printng wireless and it is working on all of them now.

Thanks for the input. However, what I am having trouble with is the rollers in the Automatic Document Feed not dropping down to pick up the pages that I'm trying to copy.. The rollers for the paper tray feed actually work fine.

GREAT video.  I love my hp 8500 have had it two and a half years now.  Unfortunately I get the "misfeed" error now, all the time.  Is there a fix for this?  I want to check out all options before junking this.  Everything else works great.

Same problem....the rollers on the ADP do NOT come down.  When will HP post a fix to this problem!!!!!!

I watched the video, switched all my trays to 1, uninstalled tray 2; nothing worked.  Until I turned on page preview; prints every time now.
