Photosmart 3310 does not install on Windows 7 [ Edited ]

I can't install the HP Photosmart 3310 software and drivers on my Windows 7.  The very first time i install the software, it will find the printer, but at the very end of the installation process, it will give an error and then uninstall the driver, but leaves some software on my computer.  The next time I run the installer, so that is just tries to add a device, I try to find the printer, it will not find the printer on the network, even if I explicitly type in the printer IP address.

The installation works on Windows XP, i can print from other machines.

I am using the software AIO_CDB_FSW_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe.

I uninstalled everything and tried again, exactly the same results.

What is going on?  Can you help me get the printer working under Windows 7?

I just bought a new laptop with Windows 7...so am nervous when I read your post...has this been resolved by HP?

Same problem.  Installed all the way down to "Configuring Product" which lasts about 4 minutes then results in a fatal error.  Tells me there's a fix, puts a nice little txt msg on my desktop which tells me to uninstall and try it again.  Did it, didn't work, same problem.  Three times.  Somewhere along the way it occurred to me that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result... so I quit.

Not the first time this has happened with an HP printer and Windows 7 x64.  Had the exact same problem with my Officejet 8500. 

Can someone at HP please fix the Win 7 installation problem for your printers?

Same problem, my photosmart C309a will not install on the bootcamp windows side, says USB software problem.  Apple says it's not their problem, contact HP.

Yup, I have this problem as well, even though at one stage it was working perfectly.  VERY FRUSTRATING.  Especially all the money I have spent on genuine ink over the years!

 My 3310 is installed on windows 7 but the Hp Solution Center will not complete the installation, therefore I cannot use the Solution Center for anything and I used it all the time on windows XP, especailly for scanning things into my computer.  Can someone help me with this problem?  Please!!!
