Photosmart 5510 network install

I recently installed a 5510 on my xp machine. It was working fine but the scanner would not work. I reinstalled the software and when trying to connect it detects the printer but rr gives me a message that network install failed. I ran the diag utility and it sees the printer fine. Any suggestions?
