Product Photosmart 5515-B111H (CQ183B) operating on Windows 7 PC . Software appears to have loaded ok . When install window appears the USB and alternative connections are shown , USB was selected but on next screen the connection did not appear. When I looked at Devices and printers from the start screen , the 5515 appears as a scanner without printer attributes. This disappears when the 5515 is unplugged. How do I connect the printer correctly?

I eventually manually installed the printer for direct USB use.
My initial problem though was installing a USB Network Server system on this Windows 7 PC so that I can use the same printer on 3 PC's. The other two Windows 7 PC's installed the USB software and installed ok. This HP desktop though never did allow correct operation of the Generic software. I did however install the printer as a networked printer on this HP desktop by using the Add printer flag in Window 7 Devices and Printers . I sucessfully installed it as a TCP/IP LPR printer with the help of the Netgear USB Multifunction Printer Server PS121v2 User Manual. My USB Network server though is a LINDY model No. 42394 . It was the Launch Network Printer Wizard wich did not open on this HP PC.
I hope this helps others.
