Photosmart C4680

I just got a Photosmart C4680 with a new Mac laptop and I can't get it set up.  I followed the directions for alignment and the USB cable and was able to get it installed, but when I try to use the SetUp Wizard it can't find the printer.  It keeps saying that if I can't find the printer it's because it's not compatible with the disc (the disc says C4600 series and came with the printer).  I then went online and downloaded another installer and I'm still having the same problem.

I am having the exact same problem.  The finder mentions an error code -43 too.

I am having the same problem trying to set mine up. I have OS X 10.5.8, and it won't recognize this brand new printer, even with the cd, and even after downloading from the website. I tried calling tech support but got tired of the blaring hold music in my ear after 35 minutes, so I gave up. Any suggestions anyone?

I just wanted to note that I finally got through to tech support later and got my printer working. All I needed to do was unplug the printer from my macbook pro, restart both the computer and the printer, and plug it back into the computer. The computer recognized it after that and now I have a functional printer. I haven't tried scanning or copying yet, but at least I got my documents printed! Hope this helps you.

Thanks!  I tried restarting the computer, but I don't think I restarted the printer, so I'll give that a try

Ok I tried restarting and shutting down both the Mac and the printer, but it still did not work.  Any other suggestions?

I have been facing the same problem but on my imac, it now prints, but is unable to be located so i can use it to scan. HOW DO I GET THIS THING TO SCAN ??? imac os x 10.5.8. Would somebody please figure this out?????

 

P.S. I already have tried all of the steps listed above and in other posts.
