My C5180 keeps telling me3 to open the back & remove paper then press OK to proceed. There is no mpaper visible in the printer, it has been taken out. What can I do?

I have a photosmart c5180.

I have just got a new hp comp windows 7 operating system

I needed to get a new version of my print artist to work with the new system, I got print artist 24 platnum

The print artist does not  properly communicate with my c5180 printer. Print artist people say I need to update my printer driver, but hp does not have an updated driver for my printer.  How can I get the program to work without buying a new printer?
