System: Lenovo T410s
Windows 7 64bit
Router: Buffalo Airstation WHR-HP-GN
Security:WPA2
Driver: updated
Problem:
My computer cannot find the printer. Both the computer and the printer are connected to the router, and allocated with IP addresses respectively. I have tried to turn on/off the firewall, but the computer cannot connect to the printer. The printer is able to print the wireless network test report, which reads "No problems found. Congratulations on the successful setup of your wireless printer", but is not able to perform any request sent from the PC, nor can it perform "Scan to PC". When requested, it reads "Try scan from computer or see documentation".
Please give me detailed instructions. Thank you!

Thank you for the reply. I have run the Connection Diagnose Utility. It cannot find the printer. Again, both the computer and the printer are correctly connected to the same router, with IP addresses allocated. This is really frustrating.

OK, print a Network Config Test from the front of the printer (Setup > Network area). Type the printer's IP address into a browser. Can you "see" the printer settings?
What kind of security system are you using?

Thanks. The browser could not connect to that IP address. My security software is ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.2.58.3. My firewall is Windows system firewall.

Your ESET software may also have a firewall that is getting in the way.
Is your PC wired or wireless to the router?

I have tried it again. And now I can open the embedded web server from my browser. I can control the printer from there, but still cannot initiate "scan to computer" from the printer. Also, I cannot save the scanned image from the web server. The saved files are all invalid images.

Try to initiate a scan from the computer. Often, scanning from a printer on a network connection does not work.
Can you print?

How do I initiate scan from computer? I've tried to do that in the browser, but I never succeeded in saving the scanned image. The "scan to PC" actually worked just fine on the printer two days ago. The printer can print it's own wireless network test report. That's it.

To scan from the PC, go to Start > All Programs > Hewlett-Packard and look for either the HP Scan or ScanPro program and run it.
