HP Touchsmart computer running Win 7 (64-bit).
Got through the printer setup, wireless setup, and software installation
just fine until it the part where I had to reboot the computer to complete
the install. At that point, it is just hanging now on "configuring product" and
I got a message that the install had quit running. I selected the option to
"look for an online solution and close the program" but it is still showing
the HP setup window on my computer (from the install CD) with the
"configuring product" stage still running. It never stops.

Okay, here's what you gotta do first of all just complete that uninstallation that the software told you to do so
then right after it restarted performed this
*NOTE: YOU CAN'T USE THIS WITH AN HP COMPUTER THIS WOULD CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS ON YOUR COMPUTER*
perform L3 Uninstallation so that it would be able to get rid of all the old hp printer files on your computer
start > run > and on the window type %temp% > look for the folder that starts with 7z.... > open the folder > go inside another folder again > look for the UTIL folder > open CCC folder > look for UNINSTALL L3
* note: reason why i can't give you a specific name coz it varies on the printer that you have
if you will be able to perform the above step then you might want to go to your add or remove programs just to make sure that you dont have any hp softwares there namely, solutions center, shops for supplies and help
and right after that reset your printer; computer; wireless router
install the printer in this sequence:
1. perform wireless setup wizard on your printer (note: make sure that you are 100% sure with your wep/wpa key)
2. turn off all of your firewalls
3. insert the disc and run the installation
4. choose the network installation process and just follow the prompts
5. lastly try to print and check if it works
--- lemme know if this helped you
