I just purchased the HP Photosmart Premium AiO C309g, serial # MYBC570ZS TODAY, and I keep getting "alignment failed". I have cleaned the cartridges, the entry points for the cartridges, added new paper. I've even tried aligned with 1 piece of paper in the tray. This is very frustrating to spend a lot of money on something that doesn't work out of the box. How do I fix this, or can I? Should I just return the printer to Best Buy and get another brand? I have also cleaned the printhead. Please help, thanks.

How does the alignment fail? Does it ever get started?
You shouldn't need to clean the cartridges -- they're new in the box.
While there might be ways to get around this issue, I think it's best to exchange the printer for a new one.

When I turn on my HP Photosmart Premium AiO 309g printer it goes to "aligning cartridges" every time. I've followed the request, which takes about 5 minutes, repeatedly every time I turn on the printer. After each time it goes throught the process it says the alignment failed but still shows the normal print functions and will print a page OK. But the next time I turn on the printer I have to go through the same process. I've gone to the toolbox and requested an alignment, and to clean printheads, but that has not helped. All I'm doing is wasting ink (which is VERY expensive) and time. How can I get this turn-on sequence to go back to normal?
