Well . . . . another night wasted. The Zeen, Android powered Tablet, will not connect to the wireless network no matter what is tried. [Signal Excellent], [Connecting], ["Out Of Range"], over and over an over. Seven other wireless products don't have a problem with the same network.
Eighteen inches away, twenty feet away, fifty feet away; from a router with a 3,000' range. Exasperating HP product. Who has time for this?

These two scenerios are very detailed, obviously tried everything and exactly the same. I still say something in the Zeen/Android tablet like wireless code, driver, hardware is not right. I have two children with Android phones. They connect to my wireless network every time they come to visit, no problems.

It connected!! Now we'll see how long it stays connected.
I did another complete re-boot of my network. I shut down the cable modem and pulled the batteries. I shut down (unplugged) the Wireless router and the same with the eight port powered hub. I waited three minutes and brought everything back up in reverse order. I waited another five minutes after everything was stable (no blinking lights that shouldn't be blinking) and tried connecting the Zeen to the network. It took about fifteen seconds to think about it and suddenly the blue "Connected" message appeared. It's a miracle!

OK. I have not turned the unit off and it has stayed connected for the last couple of days. Now I have a new problem. The screen is displaying "Problem loading widgets" and the full left side of the screen is blank. I have searched and found this complaint on many sites, but it is in reference to Android powered phones. There is no referennce to the Zeen. Now I have a quandary. Do I try rebooting the tablet to see if the widget problems resolve or not? If I reboot the Zeen tablet I risk losing the wireless connection for another week. Any guidelines I should follow?

Just and update if anyone is interested. I can spend an hour rebooting and syncing the printer and I can get even the Zeen touchscreen connected. It will stay connected until any event, Rebooting just the router, Zeen going to sleep etc. Then the Zeen is not connected and will never connect until everything else is rebooted. Definite problem with Zeen wireless drivers/code. Reminds me of early Windows wireless, I just hope HP updates the code on this device and eventually fixes the problem. No other device on the network has ever had a problem. Static/non-static IP's don't seem to help. The only weird thing I see in the connected device tables on the router is that the Zeen is the only device with a blank Network Name. This is the same for DHCP tables or Wireless device connected tables when using static. Every other device from iPods, PC, Android phones all have a Network name to go along with their MAC and IP entry. No impressed with this next generation product, great idea but not if it does not work.

If the Router SSID Broadcast has been disabled, the Zeen eReader will not connect to the network even though it has been remembered by the Zeen earlier, on the other hand the Base station/printer connects. So we might need to enable SSID Broadcast to avoid network issues with the Zeen or manually add it to the network every time you switch it on. It seems a similar behavior has been observed with other Android OS devices, so must be an Android OS related bug.

Thanks, as you know the devil is in the details. I provided details earlier in the post including configs of my wireless router. It is straight forward - SSID is broadcasting and no matter the status (Zeen connected or not) the Zeen always shows my network with excellent signal strength. It is sitting 5 feet away from the router. When the Zeen does not connect and when you ask it to connect it always comes up with bogus error saying network out of range. I agree with the Android bug, but this is an HP product for which HP should be pursuing a fix.

And count another one with the same issues. Have tried all the above, Zeen still won't connect to the network. I would be nice if HP would chime in or publish an update to the software.
I also have the issue of my PC losing the printer when I turn the computer off. Reinstalled the unit several times (as I have to if I want to print anything) and tried installing the suggested updates. All without success.
Had I know this unit would be such a pain to keep installed or working properly, I would have left it at the store.

You need to check the links around on the web:
https://windowslivehelp.com/solution.aspx?solution
HP I believe still calls this a beta release but there are instructions out there on how you go through your config screens and issue a request for an invitation. I installed it a month ago. Not another problem.
I always said this was an Android issue. This update rolls to Android v2.2. Seems to be much better

I have been having a simliar issue the past two days and it is really starting to piss me off. I have had this thing one week. $400.00 bucks for a week of total frustration. {Content Removed: no legal discussion permitted} They have no idea how to work this Zeen and are faling to meet the obligations of the contract they entered with each and everyone of us when they sold us this unit. Last week I thought this thing was the greatest thing since home pc's. {Content Removed}
