Post reformat 6980 installation problem

Hi,

A few months ago, I reformatted my main computer.  When I tried to reinstall the 6980 printer, I was unable to.  The installation process kept tripping over itself.  What I mean by that is that it would go through steps 1, 2, and 3.  After step 3 (searching for/connecting to the printer via my wireless network, though, the installer would claim it connected to the printer, but then it would repeat step.  Then it would repeat step 3 again.  ...and again.  I've tried several times and it keeps getting stuck at that point.

I am still able to print from my main computer because the printer is installed on 2 other computers on my network.  I would like to be able to print without going through those computers, though.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Hello Hempick,

Could we know the Operating system in which you are trying to install the software and also the connectivity you are trying to install the software in, also if you are trying to install in network then you have unplugged the Ethernet cable from the printer before starting the installation.

I am running Windows XP Home with SP3. I'm not sure what you mean be "the connectivity you are trying to install the software in," though. I have the Ethernet cable connected while trying to install and I only remove it when the installer prompts me to do so.

I am still getting looped/stuck on the Choose Connection Type part of the installion.
