Printer Paper Jam message

I have an HP Officejet 6310 and it has been working well.  I was just printing a document and it jamed and I removed the jam and started the print job again.  Now I can't get rid of the jam message.  Even though there is no jam. I have removed the paper in the feed tray and put it back, powered the unit off and on, clicked ok when it told me to click ok, and it still gives me an paper jam error message.  Any ideas on the problem?

I have a photosmart c5280 and it has been working fine. I experienced a paper jam so I removed the jam and now it keeps sending a message that there is a paper jam and remove it to continue but there is no jam. Any ideas anybody?

Re: Printer Paper Jam message

I have an experience with the HP6310 that may help. Kept on getting the paper jam message. Investigation revealed a mechanical weakness. A white large diameter cogged wheel that takes the drive from the motor to the paper transport system was rotating freely on the shaft it is supposed to be driving. The spline on the end of the shaft had ripped the internal diameter so that there was no grip on the shaft. This wheel is under a black cover on the left side.

Some skill is required to fix this problem.

To fix. Remove two screws at the rear of the printer, these retain small plastic blocks that limit the lift height of the rear hinges. Remove the blocks so that the hinges allow the cartridge access lid to be moved to the vertical position. This will allow access to screws that retain plastic covers, these covers can be removed to gain access to the paper drive system. The black cover over the white wheel can be removed and it may be possible the complete the repair as detailed below without further dismantling. I actually removed the transport system  to access the wheel , with the wheel removed the shaft is cleaned with alcohol and then super glue applied to the shaft splines and the internal surface of the mating hole for the shaft. Once the glue is applied the wheel must be rapidly pushed on to the shaft before the glue can take hold. Re-assemble the drive system and allow 12 hours for the glue to reach max strength before operating the printer.

No more paper jam messages.

Re: Printer Paper Jam message

My HP Officeject 6310  All in One printer has a terrible paper jam.  I tried to pull the paper out but it just tore, so the rest is in a place that I can't reach...even with tweezers.  Please advise.  I really need my printer.

Thank you!
