Hello,
I have the HP workstation window xp and a printer HP LaserJet Pro CP1525n which is connected to a network of the distributed control system. This printer is doing fine when it comes to printing microsoft doc, excel, pdf and etc.
However in the DCS software, there is a printing feature which printout the printscreen (snapshot) and all I got was the blank page with some frames on the side and the bottom horrizontal window start bar. The graphic on the center was missing out as shown in the above image. Even the icons on the taskbar appear to be broken.
I changed the setting of the DCS software so that it print to PDF first and I could successfully printout the entire graphic from the printer using the PDF print button. Similarly I can retrieved the DCS software graphic file and open it as bmp file. This way I was able to printout the graphic with no missing items.
To simplify, the printer can printout any file (graphic) from the window environment (bmp file, PDF, excel, etc).
The problem arises when the DCS software request to print immediately which could probably means the DCS software actually dealing with the printer and not through the window. I am limited knowledge on how the DCS software and the printer communicate so I do not know why the missing graphic.
Can anybody have any idea what could be the cause of this? or is there any other driver which I could use or some kind of settings to fix this.
Thank you.

Hello Seaar
From the sound if it you did a great job troublehsooting the problem already. It sounds like a problem with the DCS software because you are able to print fine with other applications. You may want to try and contact the devloper of DCS.

Thank you for the reply.
I just got some information from my colleague who happens to have the same printer but it is for the window 7 workstation.
He could printout the graphic from the DCS software with no missing items. However, he could not complete the driver installation. He sort of install the driver by searching from device manager (or something similar). Hence, his workstation does not have the printer software (the monitoring and setting interface).
I am not sure if the failure of installation was due to window 7 or something else. This led me to think, perhaps I could uninstall the printer software and install the driver the way he did.
I will try that method when I go to the plant for visit next time. In the mean time, any idea or solution is most appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello Seaar
Since your colleague was able to print just fine I think it might have something to do with a difference between the machines. Windows XP may be missing something that Windows 7 has. You could always try re-installing the driver. Below will be a link to the download page so that you can obtain the latest driver. I think your colleague may want to download the latest full feature software for his Windows 7 machine. You might also want to suggest to him to make a forum account and post the problems he is having.
