Hi mgy41512,
If you are able to print from Notepad or Wordpad without a problem there has to be a setting in the third party printing applications causing the issue.
Does it happen the same from both programs?
Do you have the same issue from a different computer?

Hi mgy41512,
Wish I could assist you more with the third party printing applications. If you are successful with printing from notepad or wordpad that indicates that the printer is working as it should. You may want to consider contacting Microsoft technical support to assist with the printing application.

When I printed in notepad, when I flipped the page it printed again the previous page even though only one copied had been requested.

Hi dslledyrt,
Really need you to install the printer on a different computer to see if you have the same issue. Sounds like there is a setting somewhere causing this issue.

I finally had a reason to print multiple documents that caused the system to give me the problem again. This is what I can tell you.
- I have two different computers that I am using that are on the same home wireless network
- Both computers have Windows 7 64-bit OS
- I have updated my computers with HP updates, when they became available.
- The problem has existed with Word, Notebook and Adobe Reader X
- Initially I thought that the problem was only when I tried to print on both sides of the paper, I was wrong, that does not seem to make a difference.
- The most recent senario is as follows:
- I received a one page e-mail with two attachements: 1 attachment was 5 pages, the second attachment was approximately 28 pages. I wanted to print the document one time.
- The one page e-mail document printed as expected - once!
- The 5 page document printed using Adobe Reader X printed as expected - once!
- The 28 page document printed twice using Adobe Reader X. All three documents were sent to the printer at the same sitting, i.e. documents were sent to the printer within 30 seconds of each other.
Finally, I thought I was working at correcting this problem under warranty as I was incontact with an HP rep several times. Apparently, that was not the case as I am told that I am out of warranty.

Unfortunately I'm having the exact same issue... Doesn't seem to be a solution anywhere online. Has the original poster resolved this issue?

Hi kirkmegna,
What application program are you printing from?
What is the operating system on your computer?
How do you have the printer connected to the computer?
What happens when you print from Notepad or Wordpad?

You need to uncheck the bi-directional button under printer properties. That should cure the problem but takes away the ability of the printer to talk back to your computer, i.e. will only communicate from computer to printer, not visa-versa.
