Printing in Booklet Form

Some Applications will not print in booklet format even tho the dialog box appears and that Option is checked.  Is this a problem with HP print driver or the application?

Re: Printing in Booklet Form

Hello Davidr4

What application are you printing from? Also what printer model and operating system are you using?

Re: Printing in Booklet Form

I am running Windows 7 and my printer is HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus N911g.

The application that will not print in booklet form is Family Tree Maker 2011 Version 20.  I am creating a book and there is a Book Preview screen that gathers all the data from the files, like a report format.  In there it allows me to print the book.  When requesting the print the dialog comes up with all the options for me to select, (i.e. copies orientation, etc.)  I select booklet format and apply then attempt to print the report, but it consistently Prints in  8 1/2" X 11" format printed on one side.  I have talked to FTM tech support and they provide no help, asumming it is a problem with my printer.

I have another problem with the application Quicken 2012 Release 7 (21.1.7.18).  It will NOTprint at all to the HP printer mentioned above.  I can print any other application immediately before the request to Quicken and to another application after the request to quicken (So I know the printer is on and connected).  I get the following message: "Unable to verify the active printer at the System Level). If I try to do a "printer setup" from within Quickent I get the same message with this second sentence - "Please verify the printer is turned on and try again.  Quicken will print to my other printers.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide

David

Re: Printing in Booklet Form

Hello Davidr4

You may want to check out this article from the quicken.intuit.com site, but if you continue to have problems you might want to contact them about that error.

Unable To Print From Quicken

As for the Family Tree Maker problem it seems to be isolated to that program. You may also want to check the latest firmware on your printer is up to date and try re-installing the latest drivers.

Re: Printing in Booklet Form

Hi Travis,

The problem with Quicken not printing on my printer is resolved.  Their help screen took care of it. Thanks.

The problem with not printing in booklet form from FTM 2011 is still unresolved.  The instructions for finding out what firmware version I have don't seem to work.  I do not have a "help (?) button" on my control panel and there is no "setup" icon on my control panel.  The third way to open open "Device Stage" and select "Printer Action" doesn't work as there is no "Printer Action" on the screen.  There is a Printer Preferences and Maintenance.  When I select it i get processing . . . and then a message " The parameter is incorrect."

So I downloaded the firmware anyway. When I tried to install it I got the message "up to date".

Any other suggestions,

Re: Printing in Booklet Form

Hello Davidr4

Glad to hear you got your Quicken Issue resolved.

If your firmware is up to date the only other thing I might suggest is re-installing the latest driver. If booklet printing is working in other applications I think it has to do with FTM 2011. Are you able to export your work in FTM 2011? You may be able to do a workaround and print the data from another program that supports booklet printing.
