Problem installing Deskjet 3070a

Hi,

I'm having trouble setting up a hp deskjet 3070a B611 all in one printer on an acer laptop (windows xp Service pack 3, everything up top date). Ive tried the disc that came with the computer and also downloaded from the website incase the disc was corrupt.

When i run the software step 1 of 5 seems to be ok. When it moves on to step 2 the process stops and i get an installation failed message. - for more information click on the button delow. When i click on the details button all it tells me is just  that there was an installation error.

Back on the main screen it offers to guide me through finding a solution. It download a link to my desktop where i can change my start up items. I've followed all the steps and still cant get it to install properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

just bought the full package from mediamakt.... HPvavilion G6 + hp 3070a....
