I am appalled by the complete lack of support from either support@hp.com and support@hp.co.uk and I even emailed the HP CEO Meg Whitman received an acknowledgement of receipt AND NO REPLY TO MY EMAILS FOR LAST THREE DAYS.
THIS IS SHOCKING.... I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HP PRODUCT AGAIN.
Emails should explain everything and if some kind soul on here can help I would truly be grateful

Mrs Whitman
I am a developer with extensive experience and I would like to make a recommendation for you.
Please sack all your web developers - I have NEVER seen such a poorly designed set of sites anywhere: functionally they do not meet my basic requirements - not even if I am patient and TRY to search and find what I am looking for. This is awful and must turn off many of your customers, I for one will look at your competitor products if I get no response.
Secondly, sack all your support staff who do not respond to emails like the one below within 24 hours.
Customer DisService is what the department should be called.
I do not expect anyone to reply to this, and if nobody does then I will sell my printer and move my business to a more friendly and customer focused supplier.
I do hope I am wrong...

Hi
I have tried in vain to use your website to lodge a support ticket but the model of my printer is not the same length as your mandatory field requires.... I hope this email gets to someone who can help....
I have installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview and various other software products and devices.
The Printer HP Photosmart B110 as a wifi printer works just fine but Windows 8 does not detect it as a scanner.
I have downloaded the 'suite' software to install the software and setup the scanner part but the software package has NO option to install when I run the software - it has only one option - exit.
Please please help me
thanks
george

Hi georgeesz,
There is no full feature software and drivers available for the Win 8 Consumer Preview beta. The only option you have is to use the NOS drivers supplied by Microsoft. If you are using the printer wirelessly you will not be able to scan using these NOS drivers. If you install the printer over USB you might be able to scan using the NOS driver. I hope that has answered your questions about the issue with scanning in WIn 8 Consumer Preview beta.

Hi PCWizard
Thanks for your reply but that did not answer my question.
The Win8 wifi printer drivers work fine however no Windows services or apps are recognizing the Twain device.
I have rebuilt this pc several times with differing OS and I am NOT looking for Windows 8 software - I always install using the full package I download from HP site. On a previous Win7 reinstall I had exactly the same problem - the install package when loaded simply had an option to exit. Eventually I managed to get all the options and installed it.
So now I am trying to do exactly the same thing... install the existing package... but just get exit.... so what is the package really complaining of?? I have re-installed lots of other packages with no issues... just this one.
Any ideas?
george

Hi zubo01,
You will not be able to install the full feature software and driver package for Win 7 on to Win 8. There is only a print only driver available for Win 8. If you have issues on Win 7 I would be glad to assist you with troubleshooting the issue on Win 7.
Can you make a copy from the printer in standalone mode?

Hi
Thanks for your interest but I did have problems with win7 but resolved those.
I now only use win8.
I remembered some of the issues with the software in win7 which I worked out needed to be addressed by using the compatability options in win7 and running the modified software as an administrator.
It seems as if the software was originally designed for Windows XP SP3.... and that was sometime ago... looks like HP do not invest in ensuring their software is maintained.
Guess I will buy a newer all in one wifi printer probably not HP with the lack of support I get from the support team and the CEO....
such a shame... HP

Hi zubo01,
I am glad to hear the issues are resolved in Win 7. As you know Win 8 Consumer Preview is a beta, and has not officially been released. Right know the only drivers available are NOS drivers from Microsoft windows updates from the add a printer screen. This NOS driver is a print only driver until Win 8 is officially released.

Now Windows 8 is no longer a beta OS but HP still hasn't provided software for B110 that can be installed on Windows 8. I'm trying to install it on a Windows 7 virtual machine hosted in Hyper-V until HP has managed to update the software to support Windows 8. But it's not possible to install the software in Windows 7 either, because the installer checks if USB devices are available, and Hyper-V doesn't support USB, so the installer just exits. I'm using my device wirelessly, and should be able to install the software without USB support. But more importantly, update the software to support Windows 8 ASAP! I need my scanner!

Hi!
I understand that Windows 8 is not yet officially released. However millions of people are already using the RTM version of Windows 8, since it has been released to Microsoft partners all over the world.
I tried the tool for Windows 8 Consumer Preview in the link you posted above. The tool found my printer wirelessly, but the last screen in this tool showed 5 empty steps like this:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Back Exit
Anyway, I've dug up an old PC running Windows XP, so I assume that I'll be able to use the scanner from this PC as soon as it has booted up. Still hoping for the software to be available on Windows 8 as soon as possible.

Hi Elvind,
Unfortunately, you will not be able to scan over wireless until the full feature drivers are available which will be around the Win 8 release time frame.
