Scanning on Officejet 5610 All in One Printer

I can't scan on my Officejet 5610 All in One.  Operating system is Mac OS X

Please clarify your Mac OS X version.

You may find the version by clicking the Apple icon and then About This Mac.

I actually sort of figured out how to scan.  I did it with the image capture.  I have version 10.6.8

I found out that the director was not compatible but in the support forum, it was suggested image capture so I tried it.  Not really sure what I did but I opened it up and scanned a photo and sent to iphoto. I assume it will work for other scans as well.
