Re: Scanning

I have a HP Pavilion dv602151cl Entertainment Notebook that is running a windows 7 64 bit system.  We have a HP Photosmart C5280 All In One.  The printer and copier aspects work.  The scanner aspects are not working.

I have tried the diagnostic program you provided.  After the diagnostic program begins to run and the uninstall driver/software option is selected, the program says the necessary software needed to perform such an action cannot be located.  It then recommends uninstalling the driver software manually.

When I go to the unistall programs portion of the control panel, none of the HP programs listed refer to HP All in One or printer driver.  How can i identify what needs to be unistalled given this scenario?

Thank you for your guidance.

Re: Scanning

First thing to know is the scanner actually working. Have you tried making a copy on the printer itself? If that works then the hardware itself is not the problem.

If the hardware is okay, then try this utility to look at scanning:

Re: Scanning

So a Firewall could inhibit the HP installation of the software to occur???   I believe I had disabled my Norton Internet Security Firewall when I did the install.  I had run the HP network utility to confirm that Firewalls had been disabled.  Still, to no avail, I can't get my printers to work.  I actually initially purchased (2) HP 6500 printers.  I was connecting via a hard ethernet wire.   Both could print and fax.  I tried for 3 of the different machines in my LAN, one from WIN 7 and one from VIsta but neither could Scan.  I am pretty convinced is a Firewall of some sort.  I worked with HP support for over 5 hours on the phone over a span of 2 days but they could not help me find a solution.  They then sent me a HP 6700 but it has the same problem.   I use a Linksys Router.  I sure wish someone from HP would set up to the plate and help me get this solved.
