Hi guys, I just got rid of this SmartWebPrinting pop-up care of Zen.....'s note on this forum which I can't find. Well done Zen..., thanks. I did this:
open Internet Explorer
click on tools
click on Manage Add-ons
scrolldown to Hewlett Packard SmartWebPrinting line item and click on this line
click on Disable button bottom righthand corner
click on Close button
exit Internet Explorer
re-open Int Explorer to prove it works without pop-up.
It worked for me and I'm a Dubbo when it comes to this stuff.
My daughter will be pleased because this has annoyed her and self for ages. Thanks Zen....
By the way i use Firefox rather than Int Exp.

I need to delete the "SmartWebPrinting installer question for the CD" .I don"t have the requested CD anymore.
I tried to download " SmartWebPrinting.msi" but the results did not solve the problem. So what should I do?
Thanks for your reply.

hello,
i was called today wrt the smartwebprinting virus by ammyy.com to remove the virus. after an hour they were asking for money. they wanted remote desktop access. my mcafee didn't allow it.
i suspect they installed it two weeks ago when they performed a fake HP access to my pc.
how can i fix the problem?
how can i be assured that i am really talking to an HP rep?
i should be assured that if i'm on HP.com i'm secure.
someone at the ammyy.com site was trying to access my pc using showmypc at RUN
millions are at risk from this problem
if this is really HP website, please post on the web and email me assurances
thanks,
bob

I am having the same problem and it happen after a Microsoft update. I had been away and when I returned and used my computer it worked fine. Then when I closed it it had 7 updates which l let load. Then the computer turned itself off. The next day when I started my computer and every time I tried to access the internet I got a dialogue box that said SmartWebPrinting was loading and then it told me that I did not have the SmartWebPrinting.msi. Does HP have a solution for this problem?
