Solution Center won't run, Fatal Error during install

Been a nightmare thru this,  I did get my print spooler to again,  I am suppose to get new cd's in the mail for the c4680  and have had a heck of a time with the warranty on it.  They wont replace it due to it being software.  Does any of you get like dvdagent.exe with a dll. error?  says dvdagent.exe missing the file  on boot up?   Also I keep getting hp resident smart program is not working.??  If I cant get my printer to fully work after getting the cd's and  also preventing more errors.  I might have to do a restore back to manufacture setting I don't want to but might be the only option

I used to use microsoft word, maybe try to go to insert and then picuture I think dont remember from there. Might be able to go to microsoft.com and look it from there on on one of the forums

Here is an update to mine.  hp sent me a rpl cd for the printer, I tried to install it  would not do so.  Safe mode said it could not start the spooler; in regular mode just goes blank right before it hits the second one.  With a lot of tinkering and advice thru hp here is what I did and nope hp solution and some other software didnt install on it. 

I turned off my printer waited 20 seconds and hooked it up.

restarted the computer and hooked another usb cable up to it. from computer to printer.  USB vista printer popped up some window saying something like do you want to install drivers thru usb and insert cd to see the drivers available and automatically install it.  I clicked it  and another window popped up on the lower right side ready to use after each one.  Then the installation window popped up on the 1st step I clicked next  and stayed on the 1st one for a while.  It was complete and w/o solution center.  I tried to get the hp printer replaced and they wouldnt .  Anyone out there know of way to download solution center 12.0 or higher??  I can scan and print so i will leave it at that until some solution comes up.

I have the same frustrating problem as all of you are experiencing.  About 2 months ago my scan capability disappeared for unknown reasons.  I downloaded the latest HP Software for the Office Jet L7680 and from there on I have not had even a printer because of this failure.  After many days of uninstalling, reinstalling I still do not have a printer.  I got it back sort of by accident when I followed HP's complex instructions to install with all windows services stopped but still did not have Solution Center.  I reinstalled to get solution center and found myself without a printer.  My only solution at this point is to buy a new printer from Lexmark or some brand that does not use the HP software.

I havent tried to resintall it again due to the fact with no printer.  Okay,  did you receive the my print spooler isn't working?  I had to do something thru one of the forums of hp but cant remember which one. 

Is there anyway to just download the solution center 12.0 or higher?

All windows services stopped?  I was told when i did my selective startup to hide the windows services and continue.  I had even thought about doing a complete sys restore back to the beginning to see if I could install it on it but that is my last resort.

Okay here is some good news for me.    After being frustrated and not being able to print and my sys locked up as well for about 5 minutes while trying to install the software again,  I decided to try a repair of vista 64.  It took about 4 hours , havent tryed repairing the 32 bit part of it, any way it is a little slow but I have SOLUTION CENTER WORKS  !!!!! SO DOES MY PRINTER SOFTWARE!!! YEAH!!!!!!.  Sorry   after months of trying to solve a way to get my solution to work.  I think I have done it.  Still havent isolated what it was.  I had an internal error Winodws installer error 2732.  Would not even let me choose custom software before this.  I have a c4680.  I had to install it once , got stuck but not the windows installer error.  Had to reboot and it progressed thru more and more and it did something that it hadn't done before it uninstalled the old softwware of which I had tryed to do so many times.  I let it keep going ,  didn't get the usb hook up so I hooked it up while the printer was on and zoom there it goes solution center came up and printer prints okay.  I will try to add my d160 as well but for now I'll leave it off.  I can scan as well from solution center I think.

One question remains why did solution center break and why did the spooler not work after uninstalling the c4680 photosmart from my sys.  Why wouldn't the software resintall.  The internal error came on solution center.msi "" internal error installer 2732".  An update from windows or hp ??? havent had that one answered.   I still might do a complete sys restore back to orig just in case.  But for now I will leave it be ; kind of slow but it will do for now.

Congratulations! I've been posting here from time to time and I had the same installer error. As soon as it's fixed, the Solution Center would work. The thing is for me, I keep losing the solution center. Next time you have Windows update I lose it again and have to install it in order to use scan function. Faxing, printing,copying no problems but scanning function never works without the solution canter. I really hope it won't happen to you.

I still havent updated to ie 8 yet, I think ie7 is more stable.  My hp smart web printing is easier to use, my toolbars thru windows live is actually working.  My printer is printing fine and it scanned okay. Checked solution center today seems to work fine. For the windows updates::::  updated only critical ones and I have the settings to let me choose which ones from now on and no updates for office in which I dont have.  Did you go thru the updates when you reinstalled it and to see which one or ones that were giving you prob again.  The only updates showing on mine now is IE8 and some security updates dating some back to October 2009.

I am also having problems with my HP C6180 when trying to install the software in Windows 7-64 bit.  I have tried everything suggested, with no solution in sight.  I connect to the printer via the network as do 3 other PCs (which all run Vista 32 bit and don't have a problem).  For some odd reason, I have to do an advanced search on the network using the printer IP (static set) in order for the software install to find it, and once found, that is wehn I get the fatal error.  It is frustrating, and leading me to think of making a purchase of a new printer from another manufacturer.

I had the same problem with my HP Solution Center and fatal error issues when reinstalling the driver of the said printer. After numerous searching for the solution, ive found out that the fatal errer was caused by the software driver which are not removed properly from the computer. YES, we have uninstalled it but because of some (i dont know what to call it), there are still softwares from HP that was left behind -- and thats when the fatal error starts. First, you need to have a very good SOFTWARE REMOVAL. HP has its own utility remover but if your also using an HP computer, its not advisable to use it because it will also remove the COMPUTERS software aside from the PRINTERS software. After that, remove all the temporary files on your computer. Next go to Control Panel -- and uninstall all HP printer software that you can see. Last, go to ALL PROGRAMS  and ensure that you dont have any HP folders and softwares left behind. Try to reinstall it and hope it would work. It worked for me...Im at peace with my HP printer now. Hope this helps!
