Every time I turn on the printer it prints a test page. How do I turn that off?

In both cases the likely issue is that a cartridge has been changed and the alignment procedure has not been completed. The page that prints is an alignment page, it will continue to print until the alignment is done. Neither of you indicated a printer model so it will be difficult to provide specifics. For the PSC 1315 you would allow the page to complete, then load the page on the scanner glass and press the scan button as described on page 33 of the user manual here.
In the future please provide more details as described in this post.

I have an HP PSC 1500 series printer. I have followed all the procedures, even running the scan after installing a new print cartridge and my printer is still printing a test page each time I turn the thing on. This wastes a lot of ink. Please show me how to eliminate this wasteful step. My old printer had a place in the printer cartridge folder to turn off the test page print but I cannot find it in this new printer file.
