Trouble connecting deskjet 3050A printer to wi-fi using an iPad that cannot download software

I cannot connect my deskjet 3050a j611a to my wi-fi. I bought it yesterday so I have never had a connection and have not been able to complete the set up as I only have an ipad. The blue wireless light on the printer is flashing so the wireless is switched on, however, when I try and set up the wi-fi using the WPS button on my router it says 'WPS timed out', when I print the report it says 'the wireless radio on your hp printer is currently turned off'. I have been unable to download any software as all I have is an iPad, therefore I have not been able to enter any details about my SSID or password. My router is a bt home hub. There are no network options on my printer, when I print the wireless teats report it shows the networks available, under my hub against privacy it says RSN, not sure what this means? I hope someone can tell me how I can connect my printer wirelessly to my wi-fi?

Hello Katie_louise86

 

The only ways to setup the Deskjet 3050A to a wireless network is from a PC or Mac, or using WPS. From my own experience RSN is not used very often as a method for routers to authenticate connected devices; at least not in home networks. If you can you might want to switch the router to use WPA or WPA2. This may resolve your issue with WPS.
