I am trying to connect my new Sony Viao laptop to my Officejet 5610. The old install CD doesn't work for Windows 7 (64 bit), so I downloaded and installed the all-in-one file AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_141 (HP Deskjet and Officejet Full Feature Software and Drivers, 362MB).
Then when I start the HP Solution Center, a message says it can't run beacuse my device installation is not complete....tells me to unplug the USB cable....if no joy, call HP Help. I have followed all of the instructions on the Solution for HP Installation Error on Windows 7 screen. Neither Solution 1 nor 2 worked. I keep getting the same error message.
By now I have spent hours and ruined my digestion. I am almost on the point of throwing away an otherwise perfectly good 5610 and buying a new printer which will run with Windows 7.
Please help.
