Unexpected error

I am running XP sp2.  I downloaded and installed the software suite for my Photosmart 3110. All tha basic operating software is ok but when I try to open either the Photosmart Premium program or the document reader, I get the following message:  The program has encountered an unexpected error.  Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.  Can anyone help please?
