Upgraded to iMac i can print wirelessly hp c6380, but cannot scan

I migrated everything from my old computer and I think I had two hp printers and I removed one as it didnt print from that one. But now I cannot scan.  I am not sure what else to do? I open the scan page and it will not go any further.  SHould I throw the HP folder in trash and reinstall from the disc?

What version of Mac OSX are you running? What happens or what messages do you receive when you try to scan? What other HP printer do you or did you have installed?

I just upgraded to the mountain Lion, the newest OS for Mac.  I recently migrated everything over from my older mac.  I can print fine. Just cannot get the scanner to work wirelessly.  I have gone into applications, and settings and tried everything as shown on line. Not sure what do do beside plugging the wire back in and using is that way.

If you upgraded to Mountain Lion the driver you are using may not be work correctly since it was for Lion. The following article explains how to install the printer in Mountain Lion and at the bottom in the (FAQs) section explains how to scan with the driver from Apple Software Update.

Hi Travis,

OK I tried the software update and had no new updates.  I will once again try when I get home, but there seemed to be something missing as I know I had two printers initially set on my migration and I did put something into the trash so as to only have one.  I will reply again later once I read thru everything one more time, but I am thinking there is something on my HD that is missing and not letting me scan!

The following article should help you uninstall the printer completely. What is the error you get when you try to scan?

I get an error that says sorry the scanner could not be initialized.  (Scanner not found) Then it says HP scan pro quit unexpectedly.  Click reopen to open application again...

I did finally get the software update to install the newest software from ap store. So that is good but still getting that message,

OK But then how do I re-install?  Do I need to use the disc? or just start in system preferences again and go thruthe steps?

You're welcome. If the "quit unexpectedly" error happens after this re-installation let me know as I will look into it.
