Windows Installer J6480 NIGHTMARE!!!!

I just spent eight hours installing my J6480. The error message "The windows installer service could not be accessed" kept kicking out the installation. If you get this error message, DO NOT use the disk to install. Instead use the "complete" driver set from the HP website. The software download will allow you to "turn on" Windows Installer in the middle of the install without stopping the whole process. HP needs to add this particular problem and solution to their FAQ problems page. I want those eight hours of my life back...

thank for the infro that does help

i did try the cd but the usb version worked fine

but the ethernet is not working i guess

but i will try again later on another computer

for now work on my brother computer of his XP

i will know more when i try my laptops

thanks a millions

 

and those 8 hours will not be compsensated

plus i spent much more on other issues beside

this and most i do on my own

the tech support of india from asia

is beyond help for the most part

 

and happy new year

Nightmare is right!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

My son visited and set up my laptop and reg computer for my wireless printer.  Then all of a sudden a few days later, it quit working on the laptop. 

 

After several hours, i finally got the laptop printing with direct connection, but no scanner.  Yesterday the printer quit working on either computer, after i tried to scan with direct hookup, noteing that the scanner no longer worked wireless.

 

I just spent two days trying every instruction and nothing my printer, scanner doesn't work ..can't get a chat to work, there is no number to call...this may be my last hp product.
