all in one fax setup

I just installed (from CD) the driver for HP V40 all in one. While trying to set up the fax it asks me to load the Windows XP CD-ROM, which of course I don't have because the computer came loaded.

How do I finish the fax setup?

Your computer should have some recovery discs with it.  XP should be on one of those.

No recovery Disk I'm afraid. "D" drive is set up for recovery but setup is unable to access what it needs from there either.

The installation for your fax is looking for some component in Windows that is not loaded.  Perhaps a friend has an XP disc?

Try downloading the driver directly from HP ind install. This should be the latest and XP disk should not be necessary.
