for three weeks and the countless hours i spent getting this printer to begin working again and never to get the scanner has got me really angry with HP and microsoft. I got my computer in Nov 2009 and everything was fine. Suddenly about 3-4 weeks later nothing on my printer worked. Dell has replaced everything inside this computer trying to get my photo programs(5) to respond, this includes the hard drive too..
I had wondered all along why there was hardly any support here for the scanners. Printers, there have been work arounds. These Hp techs here and at Hp know that their software does not work on the win 7 and are all sending us in circles and to me this is lying. I worked with 9 techs at Hp and at least 15 at Dell and 1 at microsoft.
I got ahold of an xp laptop and guess what? My scanner does not have one thing wrong with it.
On Win 7 once a week I might get a scan and also everyday it was busy, it could not complete a scan, some other program was using it. well you already know all those from your own.Solutions and essentials would half download or not install and I did 12 of those. I got their 1/2 jerked software perfectly installed and it still would not scan. HP knows the software on their site is no good and microsoft I have a feeling knows they are who messed it up more with some update they have put out. I will not put any Hp on my new hard drive and mess my computer up again. So all of you spending all these hours on something you have paid hundreds of dollars for ARE wasting your time. It is not going to work and they apparently are not going to support it.Win 7 is like a year old now so figure it out.....

Not solved here! HP help sucks. When you get some one to help at HP, I can barely understand them! I have spent literally hours trying to upgrade my HP C7280 printer to function properly with win 7 64 bit. HP and Microsoft are not to compatible with win 7, in fact lousy! I have upgraded drivers and program ect. several hundred hours of wasted time to the point of exasperation and ultimate frustration. I have been using computers since the mid seventies. All these uprgrades and add ons are just piled up junk. I spent many an hour with Xp and Hp with much better results. Hp isnt even compatible with itself, let alone Microsoft. I am definately ready to junk HP. If any HP techs and programmers read this and keep desighning faulty products, they are going to lose their jobs very soon! IN summary errors errors errors. Get with it MIcrosoft and HP!
