Re: cartridge missing or not detected c4580

Hello,

I have a question according to my C4580. Some time ago I was instaled new cartridges, after some weeks my printer received information on the LCD screen "Previously used cartridge(s) installed" like after change of cartridges.

And my printer wait for test of callibration. Of course that I continued the installation process, but after 10 minutes my printer sent the same message.

Where is the problem ? This is a problem with cartridge , or with firmware ??

could you help me in this case ???

regars,

Trajan

Re: cartridge missing or not detected c4580

I can't believe they have this issue listed as "solved." It's not. It's a perpetual problem with no long term solution.

Reset doesn't work.

Buying new cartridges does NOT work. (And is a waste of money, I've bought 3.)

Bottom line?

This is the ONLY thing that's worked. What a waste of money.

I do this EACH time I want to print.

And of course, the printer's out of warranty at this point.

APPALLING.

Steps:

Begin with the printer ON and the incompatible cartridges IN. (IE. BOTH in)

1. Press X power at the same time

2. Press BLUE, GREEN, GRAY

3. press BLUE until you see “INFORMATION MENU”

4. press OK

5. Press Blue until you see “CHECKSUM FOR RELOCK DATA INPUT”

6. OK

7. Press X until you exit all menius

8. If/when promted for aliement cancel it with X. It should bypass the error
