d110 install

I have a D110a and I can not get it to install correctly.  I can use the printer, but i can not use the Solution Center to scan to my PC.  I've trieved every single suggestion on this site, install/uninstall, reboot, patch and everytime i get to the end of the install it gives me a Fatal Error with no numbers behind it.  Can anyone help me?  I've been working on this for two days

Hello RWADEK

Have you tried the Fatal Error article yet? If not I suggest doing so.

Re: d110 install

I tried that as well, and there's nothing in there for my issue. There's no number after the error and when I look in the event log there is no event so I'm stuck

Re: d110 install

Hello RWADEK

That is very strange. At this point I would suggest performing the following procedure. The L3/L4 uninstall should remove any leftover printer software that may be interfering with your install.

From Original installation CD:

1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer

2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

D110a Software

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:

1. Type %temp% in the run field

2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

D110a Software

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

Re: d110 install

Hey Travis!

I've followed the steps exactly and still it doesn't work.  When i click on HP Solution Center it still gives me the error 'Cannot run, install not complete.".  so i go through the setup process and it tells me to add a device and  I receieved the fatal error again after it went through the setup process and got hung up for about 15 min on configuring product.  I went through the Fatal Error log again and nothing under HP, but there were a lot of errors listed under CAPI2.  Not sure if that is a coincidence or not. Here's the details from that error:

Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab at: <http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab> with error: A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.

Any other ideas?

Re: d110 install

Hi RWADEK,

What happens when you attempt to install the printer on a different computer?

Sounds like you may have some issue with the operating system on this computer.

Re: d110 install

I don't have another computer to install it on. If that's the case how would I get that corrected?

Re: d110 install

Hi RWADEK,

If you are having errors with the operating system you may want to backup your data, and then run a full system recovery which will put the system back the way it was when you purchased it. After the recovery is finished install the printer before installing any additional software on your system. Let me know what you find out?

Re: d110 install

Hi RWADEK,

You have indicated that you have error messages in your operating system, and you still are unable to get the printer installed using the fatal error document or the scrub steps provided. Without being able to isolate the issue to the hardware or operating system we are limited on what troubleshooting we can do from this point.

One thing you can do before running the recovery on your computer is setup a new admin account, and see if you are successful with installing the printer under this new user account. Let me know what you find out?
