eFax / ePrint setup Issue HP 7515 Photosmart Printer

Setting up HP Photosmart 7515 Printer...succesfully setup to local Wi-Fi router, eprint successfully setup on eprintcenter.com and works great printing from iphone, mac laptop and windows desktop over the Wi-Fi and using the ePrint feature by attaching document to email and sending to printer's email address..  Also the printer successfully accesses internet using the app icons.

However, when I try to setup eFax from the printer screen it tells me that ePrint has to be enabled  to use this feature and to click "Enable" (whether ePrint is actually set  to "ON" or "OFF" under  Web Sertvices ePrint ).  It asks me to touch "Enable" on the keypad to enable ePrint and continue.  It allows me to enter my name/eamil address and zip code but when I enter this info the printer returns a message that says "Registration was unsuccessful. Check that you are connected to the internet, then try again."

In every case there IS an active internet connection  but it doesn't think so.  After getting the registration unsucessful message I have looked abck at the ePrint  setting.  Sometimes the ePrint ON/OFF has toggled to OFF, but other times the ePrint is still set to ON.  Have tried repeatedly to register with the eFax service with same results.  Have turned printer off, unplugged it, etc, etc, etc.

Thanks for any help!

Re: eFax / ePrint setup Issue HP 7515 Photosmart Printer

Hello GTJacket

I have experienced a similar issue once before setting up an HP Officejet 8600. The following steps may resolve you issue.

First refer to Step Six of the following article to setup a static IP Address on the printer.

Printer Does not Maintain Connection

The Second part is when asked to enter the First and Second DNS try using the following two IP's.

8.8.8.8

8.8.4.4

Some advice you may want to print a network report before and after to verify your settings have changed correctly. Then try enabling web services. If you still get an error press try again. in my case after the try again it proceeded to download an update and then connected to web services. I hope this helps you out.

Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" to those that help solve your problems.
