My aunt has a CM1415FNW (connected via wired network) on a new win7 64-bit PC. It has worked great for the last ~3 months. Recently she has had trouble with the scanning application finding the printer, so I attempted to re-install the software with the latest full application from HP website. That failed at about 10-11%. I restarted the PC and attempted to uninstall the application via control panel, that failed too but it disappeared from the programs list.
I've followed some searching online of others with the similar issues (such as this: http://www.out-of-warranty.com/three-ways-to-unins
Anyone have any other suggestions?

For uninstalling software on the cm1415, please use the information in this document:
HP Single-function and Multi-function Printers - Uninstalling the Printer Software
If the cm1415 has disappeared from your program folders, it sounds like it has been uninstalled.
Now to the installer failure, have you turned off your firewalls and virus protection when you tried the re-install? I have listed a couple of documents that might be of help in reinstalling the device:
HP LaserJet Printers - Installing the Printer Software in Windows for a USB Cable Connection - iust in case you wanted to try this method
HP LaserJet Products - Installing the Printer Software in Windows 7 for a Wired (Ethernet) Network C... - your connected method.
If you could please tell me extactly what the error was on the scanning issue, I would be happy to help you with that.
Some of the common issues with scanning are not being on the same network as the printer - this will result in a communication error pop up. Another is multiple copies of the printer being on the person computer and when they go to scan, they are scanning from the wrong printer, again a communication error with happen.
