Common sense? Laughable.

No one should have to contact customer service for a brand new product. Ever. Never. Ever.

Now THAT's common sense.

So if you think its so easy to guarantee 100% non failure rate on manufacturing then let's see you design a better product, Considering the electronics industry has a 15% failure rate and that includes HP and any other electronics manufacturer and if you were somewhat educated you would know that

A paper-jamming episode was taken care of quite well.  About two weeks (10 days or so), there appeared this new error -

Help Somebody, Please.  With all the 'troubleshooting' I may have shot myself!

Hi, follow this e-mail trail back to dbohnwagner above. Wiping the optical tape thing with an alcohol wipe did it for me. My printer is working perfectly and so I don't plan to run over it in my car when I get out this weekend

That optical tape 'thingie' was actually blinded by layers and layers of dried ink.  The alcohol wipes did the trick.  To think I thought about reaching for that whole bottle of alcohol!  Could not find the KUDOS button.....

Re: hp 6500 (all-in-one) "General Printing Error (Ox610000f6)" displayed after first use!

I've just had the worst nightmare since I had this printer.  This error code came up and the printer woud not print.  I was just about packing everything up and ship to Staples for repair.  I have had this machine for more than 2 years (bought from Staples) so forget the warranty. Then I troubleshoot this error code on google.  I was directed to HP website.

Backstep a few hours:  I sent a print job to this printerthrough my Blackberry.  There was a paper jam when I came to pick up the print.  I had to force the remover of the shreds of paper inside the printer. So the problem started.

There were shreds of paper left behind and locked inside the printer that was causing the error code.  I went to my garage and brought out my flood light to have a better view of the printer.  I slided the cartridge to the side and locked behind the cartridge was a fistful of shreds of paper that needed to be removed.

I an glod to say that as soon as the shreds were removed, the error code disappeared and my printer came back to live.

Before you rushed this printer to HP, try a couple of things.  I did. I am so glad.
