I have just purchased the above multifunction printer and have installed all the software
.I am using windows 7 operating system (64bit).usb cable is connected from the printer to my computer and I can active the scan from the computer but the follwing error message keeps coming up:
scanner unreachable.If you installed product by IP address then you might need to update the IP address, if you are running firewall software it may be blocking scan communication.
Im stumped and ive installed troubleshooting software from the hp website, including the install via usb and have changed my firewall settings. The actaul scan does work but doesnt 'see' the image-can you help?
My computer is new so the IP shouldnt be an issue..

Do you have any security or firewall applications on your computer installed? I find it odd that you are using the USB cable but the error seems to sound like a network problem. Have you tried setting up the printer on your network?
In the meantime try the following article to see if you can scan without Solution Center.

I dont have a network-this is a home computer-my old printer is a hp too(1110 all in one) so i thought there wouldnt be any problems ![]()

Were you able to scan using Paint or one of the other applications in the article I provided? You may also want to try the HP Scan Diagnostic Utility.
