install HP Laserjet 1020 printer Driver windows 7

SUCCESS!!

After a bit more messing about i noticed that there were two USB001 ports showing. One was a virtual printer port and one wasnt.

I deleted both of them, reinstalled the drivers and re-connected the printer and lo and behold it burst into life like there had never been any issue with it.

There are alot of reports of similar problems - printer connected but nothing prints - but the causes seem to be inconsistent.

I think mine may have originally been due to having a laptop connected to the home network via wifi when installing Win7 which may have established some sort of connection to the printer.

But even after deleting / uninstalling everything it still couldnt seem to unwind the trail.

Very strange. Many thanks to all who have tried to help.

You beat me to it I discovered this same issue when working with another printer. After some digging and research, have reached the conclusion that there maybe a  port issue with some printers in regards to win7.

Glad to see you are back up and running. Will make a note of this in regards to this printer as well as the other one I just discovered.

my printer install in windows xp but windows 7 profesional can't install. my cp8 scaner also same problem. why i use this software. avg software free adition always out of data. when i format and setup windows 7 profesional-then my pc is very fast but windows update then my pc is very slow.
