long error message installing Photosmart software

I'm getting a long error message starting with E:\setup\hpzshl01.exe... when installing software for HP Photosmart 3310. Any help?

Can you be more specific on the error message? Please keep us posted for the exact error message.

I am having the same issues installing the C5580 on WinXP SP3, i have one HP installed, the 9800 and would like to keep that and also use the all in one. I have been trying to install for almost 4 days. I have removed all other HP software and tried to install nothing seems to work, it will not install the Photosmart Essitials software. I am getting a Visual C++ Runtime Library

everytime i try to install...it just hangs there.

I use the HP driver check tool, from the website and it's reading that my drivers are up to date and current but it will not print or scan? please help as i can not find the receipt to take it back, and i have been trying to install it since then.

I am a devote HP user, but i lost the cord to my old scanner and needed a new one so i choose this one, not really needing the printer, etc. so i basically just want to use the scanner portion and keep printing to the 9800.

Hi,

I have noticed that there have been a lot of installation issues on XP computers with SP 3 installed. The errors are not specific, and as far as i know, no patches or updates have been released to fix the issue. Downgrading to XP SP 2 has led to a successful installation many times. So if you are comfortable with it, you can uninstall SP 3 from Add or Remove Programs.

Also, computers with Internet Explorer 8 beta also have some installation issues. So if you do have Internet Explorer 8, then try to uninstall it and that may resolve the issue also.

Hi there, i bought my HP C5380 2 days ago and since then i've tried to install all in one software and it apears the same error every time. C:\setup\hpzshl01.exe....

i've tried many things but nothing worked till now i did downgrade to SP2 but nothing its the same so dont try it. haven't tried the ie8.2 unistall but ill do now.

plz anyone that can help give us a hint here. i run XP home edition SP3. thnx in advance

I've found the problem

 Uninstall the ie 8 beta 2 according the guide u will find in this page, do it on manual way.

then insert the hp all in one disc and enjoy

Tried uninstalling IE 8 but didn't help... thanks for the suggestion. Here's the entire error message...

I never had ie8 but i did go back to sp2 from sp3 for winxp pc edition, but still no luck getting the all in one to function.

please if anyone has had a similar issue please post here, i am trying everything i can. i am also looking for a number to tech support.
