photosmart 3310 running on vista displays error message"error.0xb8147d2d" when printer turned on.

The trouble started when I installed a new Linksys e2500 router. the first problem was I could not rename the new router to the former name of the old router network, which resulted in having to update all the printers and computers with the e new network name. That was easy until I got to the Sony Vaio desktop running on Vista home premium 64 bit and the hp 3310 all-in-one photosmart printer, which prior to the router change operated perfectly wirelessly and with a usb cable. So many attempts were made to re-install the printer on the network and even though I could not get a wireless connection , it worked with the usb cable. The last event I remember was during the third attempt to reinstall the software for the hp, the wizard wanted to set up the fax settings. this had not occured the two previous attempts. Here is what happened, since I do not have a land line the fax is a non issue, and I attempted to skip through the fax setup and exit  the setup wizard. The next thing I notice is the error message 0xb8147d2d and the blue screen on the display of the printer. I followed recommendations from hp support and , disconnected the usb cable from the back panel of the printer, disconnected the power cord from the printer, removed the print cartridges, plugged the power cord back in to the printer, re-installed the print cartridges, but did not connect the usb cable. the printer came on with the display screen showing HP Invent..... and it attempted to do the normal start up maintenance , but now it keeps making a sound like something is stuck and the display stops moving, and it does this start and stop a couple of times then the display turns blue with the message I posted above. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to reset the printer, or better set up the printer on the 64 bit vista system so I can get on with  all the other things that are getting back logged. thanks
