photosmart 5510 paper feed/alignment issues

i bought a photosmart 5510 and so far have had to return it once for not being able to align cartrideges and it printing squint due to paper feed tray guides being bent.

 

the replacement also has bent guides on the paper feed and so again does not print straight on the page, not impressed!! is there anything i can do apart from return the product again and ask for a refund? has anyone else found this to be an issue? any ides/advice/suggestions gratefully received!

I'm hoping someone there at HP has an answer to this issue.  I just bought a new 5510 from Target and I'm just about ready to return it and go with an Epson since that's what I had before.  The 5510 prints great with no issues, the only problem which is a real pain when trying to print photos the image isn't aligned on the paper.  It's like it's getting pulled into the printer at an angle.  The alignment print page has the same problem.  It's only slight, but it's enough to notice it on photos with a border.............................HELP.

Hi fdrjimc,

 

Adjust the paper guides firmly against the paper before attempting to print the photo. When the paper guides are adjusted properly the paper should be feed into the printer without skewing the print. Let me know if you are able to get the paper guides adjusted firmly against the paper?

Does anyone have the answer (other than a big hammer) for the 5510 Photosmart paper alignment issues? Both of our new printers prints askew on the page.  We've done everything listed to realign them to no avail.

Do you have the issue with standard paper and photo paper?

 

What is the paper specification you are using?

I have not tried photo paper, because I don't want to waste it. Business card stock and standard paper both come out crooked, both on the left margin and across the page. 

Spec on tray says "letter".  The paper seems to fit correctly, with the alignment prongs on the side fitting nice and snug.

What application software are you using to print the documents?

 

What happens when you print from Notepad or Wordpad?
