I was just informed by HP that the card reader in the HP printers (I have a photosmart c309a) will not connect to any software but their own HP Essentials software. I have taken many classes in Adobe Photoshop and prefer to use that software. I think this is BS and against the law to FORCE us to use their software for downloading pictures. I know there are ways around it but isn't one of the reasons to get an all in one is to make life easier and less gadgets??? This printer is going back to the store where it belongs.

Typically a drive letter will be assigned and you will have access to the photo card as a separate drive letter. Any program should be able to access files through the assigned drive letter. Put a photo card in a slot and look in "My computer" for a drive letter assignment.
