press the power button 3-4 tiems...
plug in teh power cable back into the wall.
see if it still gives the same msg...

Same message....still not detecting cartridges : (

Now Press the Blue, Green and Grey button in this order ONE AFTER THE OTHER. Now the display will show 'Support '.
Keep pressing the Blue button till you see System Diagnostics Menu. Not press OK.
Look for Print Mech Button tap and press OK.
Display will show Code=0. Keep pressing the Blue button until it shows Code=10. Now press the OK button.
Now the printer will print a page with a lot of info on it. Now please post here the values for the following numbers:
16, 53, 63, 54, 64, 56, 66, 57, 67.

I have the same problem (C4280).
These are values for the parameters
16 PX = 2
53 PX = 2
63 PX = 2
54 HP = 1
64 HP = 1
56 STAT = 0
66 STAT = 8
57 LOI = 0
67 LOI = 0
I would appreciate for any help.

OK. now remove the black cartridge and close the door. Now repeat the same process in my previous post, but this time, make it code=43, and press OK. On this page, you will find 2 fields named Dxxx and Sxxxxx. Next to them will be 2 columns names 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8, and below it, you'll find dots, zeros or S's. Post them here.
Also, both the cartridges seem to be empty. Maybe replacing the cartridges will help resolve your issue.

On Dxx there is 8 dots and and 8 letter 'o'
on Sxxxxx there is 7 dots and 7 letter 'o'

In the beginning of the page there was also following line:

Also, i hope you're tried cleaning the electrical contacts on teh cartridge with a lint-free cloth and then tried inserting it.
