printer not recognizing drivers

got new dell laptop  windows 7 64 (bit) , trying to use old printer hp psc 1315 all in one

downloaded driver from web site

ran install no errors

pluged in printer, came up on screen with trouble icon

checked drivers said they were loaded

opened printer said it was only a scanner

ran scan worked ok

would like to print 

any suggestions

Are you still experiencing the same problem? Have you tried to run the HP Print Diagnostic Utility? It may resolve your issue.
