scan but no print

Having tried all fixes that HP offered did not fix my problem. I am not an expert yet i will try to explain>>  All i have left in add/remove is "image zone express. This will not uninstall. two popups occur. 1) Function address 0x6061doa1 caused protection fault. 2) Printer is not installed. There are no paper jams or print jobs pending. Printer shows up with black check in printers and faxes but when i click it an adjustable box opens that allows you to type (never saw that before) like word pad. Ok, so i typed a few words and clicked print but all i get are these popups. I can use the printer to scan or copy only but not any type of document. I tried search for HP and saw 20 or 30 about Hp although i have no idea as to what they mean. I am using the HP 1400 all-in-one with windows XP Pro with plenty of memory. It worked fine for years untill a couple of weeks ago. Any suggestions and help would be appreciated. (if you are to technical i may not be able to follow you)  Thanks

Re: scan but no print

Are you printing a Webpage or  a document within one of your programs? If you are printing something on the Web your browser may be causing you problems. If you are using IE 9, I definately know that it may be causing you a problem.

If yes, recommend  you go to the Microsoft link here and run some trouble shooters. http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/

Good Luck.

Re: scan but no print

Thanks for the reply Knubby. I generally use firefox unless i need to go to Microsoft support then i switch over to IE 8. There are articles from web pages i downloaded but can not print. I made my own letter heads and envelopes that i keep in docs. for filling in and printing out later. These will not print either. I followed your link, been there, done that. Also had three different Microsoft Mr. Fixit programs that did not help. One popup stated i needed a print spooler yet  when i searched its properties it is on auto and started. Can't even print a test page. Hopes this helps a bit.          olecanuk

Re: scan but no print

Thanks for the download link. It did not help as all it shows is if a printer is connected. My problem seems to have been resolved by HP re-installing my original software early last week.             olecanuk
